Rafflecopter is Hiring (& Meet Our Newest Team Member!)

Rafflecopter Is Hiring

It’s been a little over two years since testing the very first Rafflecopter giveaway widget in private-alpha-super-secret mode. If you’ve been with us since then, you’ve probably seen all the updates and improvements that have been made up to this point.

Woah. Two years… we can’t believe where the time has gone!

Up until now, the Rafflecopter team has been just the three of us ‘cofounders’: JR, Justin, & myself. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’re hiring, and we’ve convinced social media consultant extraordinaire, Jordan, to be our first employee *dances*

We’re Hiring – Come Join Our Team!

That’s right – we’re excited to announce we’re hiring! We’re looking for several devs to join us full-time in our Boulder, CO headquarters to help us expand our current offerings as well as help design & build our next product.

Interested? Check out our job listings page for more details.

Meet Our Newest Team Member :)

Hey – I’m Jordan. I’m joining Rafflecopter full-time as the ‘Director of Customer Happiness’. I’ll be helping the team with social media initiatives, customer support & development, as well as marketing & business development.

My Background

I’ve been doing freelance digital marketing for the last several years. I’ve had a plethora of different clients from a wide variety of industries. During that time, I was actually offered a full time job by two of my clients, although I ended up turning both of the offers down. I think it was a combination of the companies not being right and that I was happy working freelance at the time.

Rafflecopter JordanOver the last year, I started becoming frustrated with only being able to spend a few hours/week on a given account. There was always more I wanted to do, but with only a handful of hours, I could never do as much as I wanted. I started to think more and more about full time employment for the right company. I gradually began to feel it was the only way I could reach my full potential and move forward with my career.

It’s as if you hired some construction workers to build a house: they have the skills to build you a huge mansion, but let’s say they were just given several weeks to work. In that limited amount of time, all they could manage to construct was a one-room shack.

How I Stumbled Upon Rafflecopter

It started back in early November. I was researching personal finance bloggers on a client’s behalf. I stumbled upon a giveaway where a bunch of bloggers had partnered together. Know which tool they were using? That’s right, you guessed it :)

I was impressed with the efficient simplicity of Rafflecopter so I decided to get in touch with the team. I told them about my background, and said I’d love to work with them in some capacity.

Greg replied & let me know that even though they weren’t looking for help at the moment, they could definitely use someone with my skills in the future. He couldn’t give me a specific timeline but suggested I keep in touch. When I got off the phone, I thought “That’s what they all say. Oh well, I guess it’s time to move on.” You can imagine my surprise when found out that Greg really meant it. We sent each other emails or talked on the phone each month.

After many conversations and brainstorming sessions, fast forward to April. The folks at Rafflecopter decided the time was right, and offered me a contract-to-hire position. I could have jumped for joy. In fact, I actually jumped up and down several times after we got off the phone. True story :)

Now that I’m here, email me your feedback, suggestions, or just to say hello!

Greg’s Notes

It’s been exhilarating to watch the Rafflecopter community grow over the past two years. But the volume of inquiries received over the past six months has been double the amount the first year and a half combined – it was clear we needed some help! We’re lucky to have Jordan join us full-time to help continue to deliver top-notch support & community management.

Last but certainly not least, a huge thanks to the Rafflecopter community for all the feedback and encouragement you’ve given us the last several years. We’ve got some exciting plans for the next year, all of which wouldn’t be possible without your support. Can’t wait to show you what’s around the corner!
