Welcome to this week’s Rafflecopter Brand Showcase. Starting today for the next eight weeks, you’ll be introducing you to a whole new group of brands who have done some form of marketing w/ bloggers in the past to give you a perspective of what it’s like to wear their shoes for a day along w/ a giveaway.
But be warned. For today’s post, don’t read it if you’re a chocoholic or fudge enthusiast.
Seriously.
Meet our friends @ SendFudge.com. Andre reached out to us a few months ago asking “do you want to try some fudge?”. You can guess our answer.
Prepare To Drool in 3, 2, 1…
SendFudge makes over 30 flavor variations of fudge from their headquarters in Bellingham, WA.
Maple. Raspberry Cheesecake. Peanut Butter. Lemon Meringue Cheesecake.
The best part? If you order from them, you know that the fudge was made and prepared by the owners themselves.
30 flavors isn’t enough, by the way. Today, Andre and Andrew announced on their blog a new flavor: Dark Chocolate Chili Mango. How did they come up with the flavor? They might answer something to the likes of “I started this project in the grocery store spice aisle…”.
Judging by the above pictures, you might have already guessed: the fudge is outstanding. Between the three of us at Rafflecopter HQ, we downed a box of dark chocolate fudge in an afternoon. Yes, my appetite for dinner was ruined… sorry mom! Probably explains why we were so energetic the rest of the day.
For this brand showcase, we’re happy to introduce Andre Pilat of SendFudge.com. He’ll share with us a little about the history of their company, how they get the word out, and a chance how to win a pound of fudge for yourself.
Hey Andre – Give Us The SendFudge.com Scoop!
The day-to-day operations of SendFudge.com are run by two guys, Andrew and Andre. Andrew makes every single box of fudge by hand, ensuring that each one is perfect before it leaves our kitchen. In nearly three years he’s made over 5,500 pounds of fudge! He also writes the SendFudge blog.
Andre keeps the website up to date and focuses more on the business end, and usually he’s the one packing the boxes to ship out. We’re still a pretty small company, so we both play a lot of parts.
SendFudge.com Is A New Company – What’s Your Background?
SendFudge.com is an offshoot of Mt. Baker Candy Co, a local candy shop in Bellingham, Washington. We make chocolates, fudge, caramel apples, and lots of other treats. It seemed natural to start selling our products online (hey – this is the 21st century after all!).
So we started doing some experiments with fudge, trying to find the best way to ship it all over the country. Fortunately fudge travels pretty well, so it wasn’t too difficult to figure out. The rest is history!
How Important Is Blog Outreach For Your Promotions?
Blog outreach is definitely a big part of our marketing strategy. The obvious challenge with selling food over the Internet is that the customer can’t taste it; there’s a certain amount of risk involved because you won’t know if it will be good until you get it.
This is why we rely on blog reviews to assure potential customers that our fudge truly is some of the world’s best. All the advertising in the world can’t give us the same objective opinion as a blogger’s review. Honest, unbiased reviews are very valuable to us, and it’s especially helpful for us to get feedback on the overall customer experience.
What Kind Of Bloggers Are You Interested In Working With?
We typically seek out bloggers interested in food and gifts, but that’s not a firm rule. We also like to work with mom & parenting bloggers, whose busy readers can appreciate our easy, fast, affordable gift solution.
How Has Rafflecopter Helped In Your Promotions?
Starting a business on a tight budget is not a simple task, but Rafflecopter allows us to make the most of our small advertising budget. Blog outreach is very cost effective and lets us reach people who are actually interested in our service. Plus Rafflecopter makes the whole process so simple, which makes life easier for us.
Now To The Fun Part – What Are You Promoting Today?
We’re promoting fudge, of course!
We offer over 30 different flavors available in three sizes. Each box is handmade right before it’s shipped so you get the freshest fudge possible. Our fudge is more affordable than flowers, lasts longer, and tastes better too. We’re making gifting possible for everyone.
