Hey everyone! I’m Josh, the newest team member here at Rafflecopter. The title of my position here is ‘Customer Happiness Agent’; I’ll be in charge of everything related to customer and product support. What that means is when you get in touch with us, chances are I’ll be the one you’ll speak with. Basically, I’ll be doing everything I can to make your day awesome(er). As the individual in charge of customer happiness, I thought it would be a good idea for me to introduce myself to everyone so you all can put a face to a name. So, Rafflecopter community, it’s great to finally meet you!
How I ended up at Rafflecopter starts about 1,200 miles east of Boulder in Columbus, Ohio. Being an Ohio native, I made my way out to Colorado in August of 2011 after graduating college from Ohio University with a degree in Visual Communication. What does that mean, you ask? The short answer: I’m still trying to figure that out.
So… Why Rafflecopter?
Prior to joining Rafflecopter, I was a freelance photographer getting my feet wet with everything from destination wedding to professional sports. I had a lot of fun doing it, but I was craving something more, something that included collaboration with creative people, interaction with innovative organizations, and most of all, being a part of a team that’s trailblazing an industry. Fortunately, I think I’ve found that at Rafflecopter.
After running my own business for three years, the thought of joining ‘corporate life’ was worrying. However, the day-to-day at Rafflecopter is anything but corporate. I’m typing this post on my Macbook Air while I’m wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and I’m not even sure where my shoes are. Hopefully Shiner didn’t get ahold of them! ;)
There really isn’t an average day at Rafflecopter. Which is great, it keeps things fresh. Sometimes I’ll get into the office at 7am, sometimes 10am. And sometimes, I’ll work from home. And you never know when Ken, one of our developers, will be skateboarding around the office with his dog, Nilla. Amidst all the fun we have, we also work. A lot. And we have a lot of fun doing it.
Rafflecopter is a small team of smart & creative individuals. Going to work here isn’t just putting in the hours; it’s learning, questioning, and most importantly, making mistakes. Mistakes aren’t an intentional part of our creative process, but we recognize they will be present when we’re continually pursuing a culture of innovation. It’s exceedingly refreshing to work in an environment where boundaries are pushed, mistakes are made, and new things are learned everyday.
Rafflecopter & Looking Forward
So what is all this creativity and innovation going towards, you ask? Well, we have some exciting changes ahead for Rafflecopter. I can’t say much, but we’re experimenting with implementing really cool functionality with our software. We frequently get requests for more control over styling with the widget, more integrations, as well as requests for more enterprise features. We do everything we can to listen to our loyal customers and we strive to do our best to to create a product that pleases our user base while continually maintaining a brand and philosophy that Rafflecopter was founded on.
You’re more than welcome to get in touch with me for anything Rafflecopter related — I can be reached at josh@rafflecopter.com and would be happy to help! Otherwise, you might connect w/ me on Instagram, perhaps to see the adventures I take outside of the office ;)
