We’re always making updates to Rafflecopter. You’ve given a lot of feedback over the past two weeks and we thought we’d fill you in on some of the changes we’ve recently made:
- When you ask your readers to “like” on Facebook, Rafflecopter now asks them for their Facebook name to help for verification purposes.
- When you ask your readers to tweet a message, Rafflecopter now asks them for the tweet link/URL for verification purposes. We’ve also included a “how-to” guide in case the reader doesn’t know where to get this URL from.
- The styling of Rafflecopter’s widget has been slightly modified. Colors have been updated and the sizing has changed to be slimmer.
- We’ve been constantly fixing bugs on certain browsers. We’ve fixed the IE9 duplication error, and have made the widget more user friendly in IE7 and IE8.
- When you moderate entries, you’re now able to see the entry option if you had a custom “Choose Your Own Task”. This is included in the spreadsheet download as well.
- The appearance of the pop-up box that asks the entrant for information is now less bulky and slimmer. We hope this makes it not as obtrusive!
What’s next? You’ve been letting us know what you’d like to see improved. We’re always listening… one of the most asked for feature requests is the ability to not rely on cookies. For example, entrants come back to your site to do their daily tweet several days after completing the mandatory entries, and it asks them for the mandatory entry again. This issue is happening because Rafflecopter currently relies on cookies. If an entrant has their cookies deleted on a daily basis, Rafflecopter acts as if the entrant has never entered before. That will make for a poor and frustrating user experience – we’re coming up with a solution around this issue. Stay tuned!
Some other popular feature requests / feedback have been:
- Ability for the entry option to share on Facebook
- Entry option that can be entered an unlimited amount of times (enter my other giveaways, for example)
- Tweet more than 1x per day
- The ability to have and announce more than one winner
- Twitter follow button integration
- Ability to have more control over time (11:59pm vs 12:01am) and time zones
- Better usability on the iPhone & other mobile devices
