It’s that time of week again: Friday! A lot has been going on this week @ Rafflecopter HQ and we thought we’d throw a summary of everything going on in a ‘Rafflecopter Roundup’.
Get Learned: 5 Ways To Make Your Blog More Shareable
To start off the week, we partnered up w/ Shareaholic to exchange several blog posts. Janet, the head of marketing from Shareaholic, wrote a great post discussing strategies around how to make your blog’s content more shareable. Check out her guest post on our blog for some tidbits on how to help spread the word of your content.
Get More Learned: The 4 ‘P’s To Running A Successful Online Giveaway
Over the past year, we’ve seen thousands of giveaways created w/ Rafflecopter (just how many you say?) Pertaining to running online giveaways, let’s just say we’ve picked up on some knowledge of what works and what doesn’t.
Shareaholic asked us to write a post for their blog several weeks ago. Now that the dust has cleared, we’re excited to share our knowledge with you. In this recent article, we’re not talking about the 4 ‘P’s of marketing here… we’re talking about the 4 ‘P’s you should focus on when creating your next giveaway.
Woah – A New Rafflecopter Widget Code?!
Yup – there’s a new Rafflecopter widget embed code in town! No more specific instructions for each platform, no more worrying about page breaks, and no more bulky code that looks like robot-speak. Just a simple copy and a paste of a two line code and you’re done!
What’s changed with the new widget code? Not a lot from just looking at it, but the performance of the widget as a whole will improve. Here are some advantages to the new widget:
- faster loading speed
- improved compatibility w/ all your plugins
- improved compatibility with your blog’s theme and CSS

Rafflecopter Giveaways on Facebook: New Facebook Directions
A little birdie told me that Rafflecopter will be releasing an official Facebook app in the near future. That’s what I’ve heard through the grapevine anyways… :P
In the meantime, we’ve always recommended that if you’d like to run a giveaway on Facebook with Rafflecopter, go through a 3rd party iframe app and run your promotion on a Facebook Page Tab. Unfortunately, the iframe app we’ve been recommending for so long is going out of commision. We wrote a blog post with updated instructions on how to run a giveaway on Facebook using Rafflecopter.

Pur Minerals, Blog Outreach, And The History Of The Internet
The last four companies that we’ve introduced you to in the Rafflecopter Brand Showcase have been companies with products that we’ve tested. In this week’s brand showcase, we wanted to head in a different direction.
We’ve worked with Pur Minerals in the past, but in this week’s brand showcase, we wanted to share with you their thoughts pertaining to online marketing, working with bloggers, and what they look for when they decide to run a blog outreach campaign (and of course, what’s a brand showcase without a giveaway?!)
