Over the past few months, you’ve given feedback on how we can help you run giveaways and sweepstakes. We’re excited to announce that Rafflecopter is out of private beta. We’d like to take a moment and describe all the new features this new widget has and how you might take advantage of it!
How To Run Giveaways on Magento with Rafflecopter
Run Giveaways On Joomla Using Rafflecopter
Some folks have asked us how you can run giveaways on Joomla using Rafflecopter. We got the answer for you – here’s a quick guide on how to get the Rafflecopter widget up and running in no time.
First, we need to temporarily disable the Joomla editor and select “None” in the site > global configurations. We’ll have to do this anytime we want to embed the Rafflecopter javascript somewhere on our page. The reason for this is that many Joomla editors will strip <script> tags for security reasons. If you’re savvy enough to figure out how to get your editor to stop stripping tags, you can ignore this part.
Rafflecopter: 2,000 Fan Celebration!
Today, we’re happy to announce that you’ve pushed us past the 2,000 fan mark on our Facebook page. We wanted to do something special for you, so for the next two days, here’s what we’re going to do.
Open Registration…
First, Rafflecopter registration is going to be open to everyone for the next 48 hours. So if you or a friend has been thinking about checking out Rafflecopter but don’t want to wait for an invite code, now is your chance to take advantage. To sign up, visit the URL below:

… And a Contest!
Second, we’re going to run a little contest. For those of you who don’t know, Rafflecopter has been running since late May 2011. Since then, folks have created thousands of giveaways. We want you to take a guess: how many unique individuals have entered in a Rafflecopter giveaway?
Like ‘The Price is Right’, the closest guess without going over will win a $20 gift card to Amazon. The contest will last for two days, so get your guess in soon!
Thank you so much for all your support. We’ll have some exciting announcements in the coming month so stay tuned! In the meantime, feel free to share with your friends, or take a guess in our contest below – what have you got to lose!

Rafflecopter Bloggers… Meet Advertisers :)
Rafflecopter wants to connect PR-friendly bloggers with advertisers, and we’re looking for folks interested in working with us!
When the idea of Rafflecopter came into existence, we contacted hundreds of bloggers looking to learn more about how we could make a solution that would help streamline your giveaway process. Five months later, Rafflecopter’s giveaway application continues to be improved upon in private beta.
But the process of running giveaways on your blog doesn’t stop there. If you’re a PR-friendly blogger, you already know that a lot of work goes into finding companies and products, maintaining these relationships, and making sure the brands you work with resonate with you and your readers.
Have you ever been approached by a brand that tried to get you to review an iPhone application even though you hate everything Apple? What about a company trying to get you to review lawn darts, even though you specifically said family friendly products only? What about companies that sponsor giveaways, but then flake on delivering the product to the winner? We’ve seen it too, and it makes us unhappy :(
As a blogger, you want to boost your readership, increase your following, and introduce new products to you and your readers in a fun and exciting way. Advertisers have been contacting us asking to be introduced to those using Rafflecopter. We want to help, but only if it’s done tastefully and in a way that benefits all parties involved.
We have some ideas on how Rafflecopter can introduce bloggers to advertisers, but we want to include you in the conversation. We want to extend an invitation to PR-friendly bloggers who currently use Rafflecopter to an email list that will act as a means of communication for an alpha program of our advertiser platform. If you are interested in participating and don’t have an invite, send Greg a short note at greg@rafflecopter.com.
You can sign up on the email list below. We’ll send out a message during the next week to describe the process of how we’re going upon doing this and how you can help. If you like what you hear, we’d love to work with you!
Thanks so much for all your continued support. We’re looking forward to seeing how we can help you!
