Running sweepstakes and giveaway promotions on your Facebook page with the Rafflecopter Facebook app is a piece of cake :) And it’s now mobile-friendly!
Rafflecopter Facebook App: How It Works
After creating your giveaway widget in your Rafflecopter dashboard, you’ll be taken to the embed page. Get it on your Facebook page by clicking “Install to a Facebook Page”. Provide the necessary permissions, choose which Facebook page you’d like to run your promotion on, and you’re all set!
On the page tab, the entry form will load in the middle of the page. You have the ability to edit the HTML section above and below the widget. If you’re not an HTML whiz, a really quick trick would to build the page in a WordPress blog and copy the HTML over into the page tab. Here’s a mini-tip on how to create visually appealing Facebook promotions.
Introducing Mobile-Friendly Features
When you run a giveaway on Facebook, to abide by Facebook promotion guidelines, you must run the giveaway on a canvas page or a page tab.
Canvas and page tab pages on Facebook aren’t accessible from the official Facebook app on mobile devices. These pages can be accessed through a desktop or traditional browser, but this is one limitation that’s something out of our control unfortunately. Until now!
Moving forward, each giveaway you create on Facebook will come with a mobile-friendly share link on the top of your Facebook page tab.
Copy and paste the mobile-friendly sharing link and use it in your Facebook status update to promote your giveaway. Your fans visiting from the Facebook mobile app will be taken to the page tab on their mobile device. Those visiting from the web will be taken to the page tab as normal.
Some Final Details & Notes
The Rafflecopter Facebook app is automatically fan-gated. you’re also only able to set up one giveaway tab on your page at a time. If you want to run another giveaway, clicking ‘Install to a Facebook page” will replace your old giveaway.
You’re able to change the image and the title of your page tab. Facebook makes this really easy – click here for a visual on how to do this. (image link)
