*Hey-o* – it’s the weekend! We wanted to give you a quick ‘hello’ & let you know about several updates that we’ve recently made, specifically to the Rafflecopter widget code and the Facebook entry options.

Sometimes your Facebook page’s URL isn’t the same as your page’s name (boo!). When you run giveaways using Rafflecopter, you’re given the ability to edit your Facebook’s display name on the widget. Using the Facebook page of Giorgio A. Tsoukalos (the star of History’s Ancient Aliens) as an example, here’s how you do this:

If you’ve signed into your Rafflecopter dashboard recently, you might have noticed a new button on your embed page that says ‘Install To A Facebook Page‘.
Yup – it’s the Rafflecopter Facebook app! Running sweepstakes and giveaway promotions on your Facebook page with Rafflecopter is now a piece of cake :)
Maybe you’ve read over Facebook’s promotions guidelines. Maybe you tried reading them, but got scared by the “lawyer speak”. Since Facebook revised these guidelines a month ago, there has been a lot of back and forth on what’s allowed and what isn’t.

Some folks say that these recent guideline changes are in favor for Facebook page admins in relation to what they were like a few years ago… I tend to agree. Believe it or not, Facebook promotions have been able to only be run on 3rd party apps on a canvas page or a page tab for over a year – this isn’t a recent update.
